the last poet society is a literary community and (digital) studio dedicated to all poets and poetry readers. our mission is to revitalize the healing energy within poems and bridge the gaps between literacy, love, and education. this platform is a love letter dedicated to poets and poems everywhere. we are a home for the youth, the loud, the quiet, the unheard, and those who long to be heard. we hope you find a home in us and write your love letters, prayers, and manifestations here. your poems are your prayer.

nakayla monét,
editor-in-chief, founder

nakayla monét (she/her) is an English educator, love poet, writer, twin mom, and wife. her work focuses on the emotional and healing elements of love, mental illness, and motherhood. she is dedicated to using poetry as a tool for literacy education, healing, and youth outreach. nakayla has obtained her master of arts in English and creative writing with a poetry concentration. she is currently working on a chapbook and full length poetry project, while completing a master of science in instructional design.

chad// iamhethatspeaks,
co-editor in chief

chad is a poet first and a psychology student second. currently attending clayton state university, he is on track to becoming a licensed professional counselor. chad seeks to incorporate both worlds into one beautiful expression of love, heartbreak, religion, and happiness. chad prides himself on being a relatable poet. a poet of the people, for the people. chad believes that poets exist to be the voices of those in the multitude who cannot be heard and the voices of those who are struck mute.
