poetry poll:
what is the best part of being a poet??

being a poet is a deeply reflective, emotional, and meditative practice. it goes beyond the confines and convictions of being a traditional writer and demands constant learning and emotional awareness. within that, poets still bare their souls on the page and below are the reasons of why the do it:

"poems will never have just one meaning. that's how we as poets are able to reach so many different people."

"hearing the different ways your poem can be interpreted"

"knowing that whatever you're feeling or pouring out, you're not alone"

"being able to freely expree a concept and someone actually understands me."

"being the muse in my own story"

"being able to draw inspiration from the highs and the lows"

"getting a twisted emotion of your spirit"

"my words are my emotions, and how honest i can truly be"

"feeling as though i have something that tethers me when things feel out of control"

"inspiring, uplifting, and changing people's perspectives on faith, love, etc."

""sharing my work with others"

"freedom"

"the inspiration; it leads you to write things you couldn't have imagined in your past lifetime, until now"

"the freedom of expression, the carefree raw emotion i put into it always conveys my message"

"finding my words and rhythm to express my soul"

"having the ability to channel and embody any emotion through a piece. it's a great form of therapy for me and helps me feel balanced at the end of it all."
